Art Lebedev Concept: Cardboard USB Drive

A new great gadget, USB sticks made out of cardboard, I suggest you don't treat them as cardboard, they won't be as cheap. Art Lebedev came up with this creation, the Cardboard USB drive concept. This environmental-friendly USB stick can be torn from a strip and then quickly used to transport data safely from one place to another. The concept is probably not that far off and as soon as the technology becomes cheap enough to become disposable the concept I am sure will come into its own. Or perhaps cloud computing and data connections will become fast enough that USB drives will become a thing of the past and join the floppy.

But 16 gigs to just be thrown away? Surely not. I couldn't toss something so amazing in the trash.

  19. This looks cool in theory, but I'd be pretty concerned about heating issues if the box has a power supply on the fritz.

  20. this helps confirm my belief that once flash drives become cheap enough, they'll replace spinning disk formats like blu ray and DVD.
